Persistent World Threads

Ambient news was a great start. But single-week blips don't build mythology. Threads do.

Slow-burn stories that span weeks

The world engine now runs up to three concurrent multi-week threads in the background. Each thread fires beats over 4–12 weeks before paying off. Examples:

  • Mystery Investor — a deep-pocketed money mark is sniffing around the indies.
  • Scandal Brewing — whispers escalate into a full-blown rival blow-up.
  • Hot Rookie Buzz — a name you don't know yet keeps showing up on cards.
  • Retirement Tour — a veteran starts saying their goodbyes.
  • Territory War — two rivals openly raid each other's rosters.

Why it matters

Threads give the news feed a sense of continuity — a story you saw two months ago can finally pay off, and you'll remember the build. The territory feels less like a slot machine and more like a soap opera you're inside of.
